Our Story

In 2023, we Brooke McGilvery founded Brooke of Life Montessori Academy to meet the needs of the Lancaster community and surrounding cities. With our progressive and holistic early childhood education philosophy, we understand that each child has unique needs and interests. We provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities.

When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Once they leave Brooke of Life, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.

Our teachers/guides are professional educators. They are compassionate, talented individuals who display their love of children, learning, and all things Montessori through thoughtful, intentional daily interactions with our students.

Head of School
Brooke McGilvery

Brooke McGilvery is a passionate educational leader with 20 years of experience. She has served in the capacity of Principal/Head of School, Assistant Principal, District Curriculum Coordinator, Dean of Instruction, Master Teacher, and is the Owner and Director of a Montessori pre-school. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish, two Masters in Counseling and Education Administration, all from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Education in School Psychology at University of Texas at Tyler.

Ms.Annie

Ms. Annie attended Eastfield Community College to advance her studies and for over two decades, she has dedicated herself to the dynamic world of retail, mastering the art of customer service and cultivating meaningful connections with patrons. However, her journey took a delightful turn as she embarked on a new chapter, transitioning into the realm of early childhood education. As she embarks on this fulfilling journey in early childhood education, she continues to inspire both children and colleagues alike with her unwavering dedication and boundless enthusiasm for fostering a brighter future, one small smile at a time. Ms. Annie is the mother of three adult children and grandmother to four grandchildren.

Ms. Karice

Karice is a graduate from Texas Woman’s University where she earned a bachelors degree in Child Development. She has several years of experience in child care as a nanny, child care worker, and a summer camp counselor. She enjoys creating fun activities where children can artistically and freely express themselves.

Lead Toddler Guide
Ms. Ijionea

Ms. Ijionea received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Prairie View A&M University in 2019. Since then, she has worked with the Department of Family and Protective Services as a Conservatorship and Family Based Safety Services Caseworker. She has also worked with the Health and Human Services Commission as a Child Care Regulations Inspector; which inspired her to begin her career in childcare.
She loves working with children because it is an opportunity to watch them grow and develop into confident, self-sufficient learners.

Ms. Angela

Assistant Infant Teacher

Miss Angela loves working with children and has found her niche with infants and toddlers. She creates a welcoming and nurturing environment for all children. She is studying to receive her Bachelors with a major in English at Southern New Hampshire University.

Lead Primary Guide

Ms. Taylor

Ms. Taylor has always had a passion for teaching children! She has over six years of childcare experience teaching children between the ages of 3 and 4. She is very proficient in feedings, lesson plans and cleaning up after her students :) Her hobbies include painting, podcasting, baking and trying new foods.

Ms. Macayla

Assistant Toddler Teacher

Macayla graduated as a Legacy Student from The Mesquite High School in Mesquite ISD. Her goal is teach toddlers how to read, write and have life skills that will help them as they continue to grow and develop. She currently attends Dallas College to obtain her degree in Criminal Justice.

Ms. Jakira

Assistant Primary Teacher

Ms. Jakira is passionate about early childhood education. She is studying to receive her Bachelors in child development. She loves working with children and is influenced by her mother who is a tenured educator in Lancaster ISD.
